We are excited to announce that we have partnered with several Alle-Kiski communities in working with the Westmoreland County Department of Planning & Development, the Redevelopment Authority of Westmoreland County, and the Local Government Academy in undertaking a regional property conditions assessment and blight mitigation plan.
What does this mean for the residents of East Vandergrift Borough? County and Borough employees will be walking throughout the community to inventory each parcel within the Borough. This will enable staff to more accurately put together current mapping information and evaluate for potential blighted properties that need addressed. Some photos may be taken to be used with the inventory system.
This step of the process should only be a few days. Once the data is collected, the Borough will be mapped using software developed by the County specifically for local government use primarily as an aid in eliminating and preventing blight.
